Club History
– Founded in 1974 by the late Jon Clifford
– Originated in Bull Park area of Derry but attracted players from all parts of town and surrounding areas
– Wide range of teams from Under 6 – Senior Level
– Compete locally, regionally, nationally and internationally
– Jon Clifford offered MBE for his services to football and youth development
Achievements
– Top junior club in D&D for over 40 years
– Dundonald Floodlit League, Mallusk Tournaments
– Represented NI at various national competitions in England
– Winners of U14 European 5-a-side title before 7000 spectators at Anfield, 1982
– Winners of Mellisant International Youth Tournament in Rotterdam, 1988
– Dana Cup Trophy in Hjorring, Denmark 2007
Present Club Position
– Teams competing in D&D junior leagues (U9 – U13)
– U6 to U8 participating in mini soccer tournaments
– U15’s competing in National League (NI wide)
– Senior teams competing in D&D Premiership Division and Saturday Morning League
– Each team has a manager and at least 1 coach
– Club being run by the Tristar Development Committee
– Club independently financed through regular donations, corporate sponsorship and fundraising events
– Club trains and plays on District Council and School facilities
– Coaches are offered IFA Mentoring Training, Emergency Life Skills, Level One Coaching and “C” License course
Tristar Development Committee
– Formed by Jon Clifford in October 2010
– Primary responsibility is to oversee the planning and delivery of all club functions in compliance with our strategic aims, objectives and policies
– In addition to Club Officers, the Development Committee also includes specific roles such as Coaches Rep, Fundraising Rep, Child Protection Officer, Public Relations Officer and Fixtures Secretary
– Examples of Roles and Responsibilities
a) Recruiting, training and vetting coaches
b) Organising fundraising events and applications
c) Informing members, coaches, parents etc of club events
d) Decision-making in relation to club issues and proposals

Tristar FC Strategic Aims
– To secure funding for F/T Club Co-ordinator and Development Officer
– To secure funding to develop a club facility that would be the location of home matches, training sessions, committee meetings and social events
– To increase the number of teams competing at National League level so as to develop team and player standards
– To establish links with National and International Senior clubs that will provide progression routes and development opportunities for players and coaches
– To provide recognised/accredited training for all Club Coaches within one year of joining
– To secure Charity status so as to seek core funding

– Establish an Intermediate League team
